If you have a judgment of divorce issued by a court in Greece:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>Required documents:<\/u><br \/>\n&#8211; The original irrevocable Judicial Decision;<br \/>\n&#8211; Service report or non \u2013appealing (in case of agreement between spouses);<br \/>\n&#8211; Certification from the Office of the Court which issued the decision, certifying that no ordinary or extraordinary appeal has been lodged;<br \/>\n&#8211; Divorce certificate from Church Authorities (only for religious unions);<br \/>\n&#8211; The applicant must have a valid identification document or passport.<br \/>\n&#8211; No fee is required if the birth is declared within the first 90 days.<br \/>\n<u>&#8211; FEE Receipts of <\/u><u>fee paid to the Public Financial Service (<\/u><u>\u0394<\/u><u>.<\/u><u>\u039f<\/u><u>.<\/u><u>\u03a5<\/u><u>) or from <strong>eparavolo<\/strong> <\/u><a href=\"https:\/\/www1.gsis.gr\/sgsisapps\/eparavolo\/public\/create.htm?langid=1\">https:\/\/www1.gsis.gr\/sgsisapps\/eparavolo\/public\/create.htm?langid=1<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; if the registration takes place between the 90<sup>th<\/sup> and 180<sup>th<\/sup> day a fee of 5.40 euro is required to be paid at the Public Financial Service (\u0394.\u039f.\u03a5) or the fee can be paid through <strong>eparavolo:<\/strong> <strong>code number 3826 for 5.40 Euros.<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; if the registration takes place after 180 days from the birth, a fee 15.60 euro is required to be paid at the Public Financial Service (\u0394.\u039f.\u03a5) or the fee can be paid through<strong> eparavolo: <\/strong>\u00a0<strong>code number 3827 for 15.60 Euro<\/strong><strong>s<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>It is declared at the Special Civic Registry a) by one of the spouses, b)\u00a0 by a duly authorized third party; by means of notarized Special Power of Attorney c) by a lawyer duly authorized; by means of notarized Special Power of Attorney d) by any person who has a legitimate interest. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>NOTE: The divorce may also be registered at the Registrar where the divorce report was issued.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you have a judgment of divorce issued by a court abroad<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>Required documents:<\/u><br \/>\n&#8211; The original irrevocable decision issued by a court abroad, legally certified and officially translated<sup>1<\/sup>\u00a0into Greek. You may also submit a legally certified copy of it;<br \/>\n&#8211; A legally certified<sup>2<\/sup>\u00a0and officially translated Certification that the decision is final, (in case it is not referred to in the body of the Court decision);<br \/>\n&#8211; Recognition by the Greek Courts of the final decision issued by a court abroad (as applicable);<br \/>\n&#8211; The applicant must have a valid identification document or passport.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fee (<\/strong>See above<strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>It is registered at the Special Civic Registry by a) one of the spouses, b)\u00a0 by a duly authorized third party; by means of notarized Special Power of Attorney c) by a lawyer duly authorized; by means of notarized Special Power of Attorney d) by any person who has a legitimate interest. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The recognition by the Greek Courts of the final decision which is issued by a court abroad is not required, if:<br \/>\n&#8211; the final decision is issued by a court in a EU Member state (with the exception of Denmark).<\/p>\n<p>Also, no recognition is necessary from if the decision has been issued in the following countries:<br \/>\n&#8211; is issued by a court in ARMENIA (article 22 of law 3007\/2002),<br \/>\n&#8211; is issued by a court in GEORGIA (article 26 of law 2813\/2000),<br \/>\n&#8211; is issued by a court in ROMANIA (article 25 of law decree- law 429\/1974) and<br \/>\n&#8211; is issued by a court in SYRIA (article 26 of law 1450\/1984).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Dissolution of marriage by way of notarial act in accordance with Law 4509\/2017<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>Required documents:<\/u><br \/>\n&#8211; The Notarial act<br \/>\n&#8211; A valid identification document or passport is necessary<br \/>\n&#8211; for solemnized marriages: the Holy Metropolis (which is the Head of the churches in the specific region) must issue a document on the spiritual dissolution of the marriage<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>It is registered at the Special Civic Registry a) by one of the spouses, b)\u00a0 by a duly authorized third party; by means of notarized Special Power of Attorney c) by a lawyer duly authorized; by means of notarized Special Power of Attorney d) by any person who has a legitimate interest. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note: <\/strong>No fee has to be paid for a late declaration of the dissolution of marriage by way of notarial act, <strong>since<\/strong> such a decision becomes final as of the date it is declared to the Special Civil Registry Section.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n[1]\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Official translation: <strong>a) <\/strong>the document can be translated and certified by the Consulate or <strong>b)<\/strong> the document can be translated in Greece by the Section of Translations\u00a0(Arionos 10 and Ermou- Monastiraki) or <strong>c)<\/strong> by a qualified Greek lawyer.<\/p>\n[2]<strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 a) <\/strong>Apostille Stamp <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hcch.net\/en\/instruments\/conventions\/authorities1\/?cid=41\"><strong>https:\/\/www.hcch.net\/en\/instruments\/conventions\/authorities1\/?cid=41<\/strong><\/a><strong>) <\/strong>or <strong>b)<u> if the country is not a member of the Apostille Convention <\/u><\/strong>certified by the Greek Consulate in the area of residence or <strong>c)<\/strong> if a EU member no other certification is needed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
