If the solemnization took place in Greece: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>Required documents:<\/u><br \/>\n&#8211; A Religious marriage certificate issued by the officiating priest.<br \/>\n&#8211; A valid identification document or passport is necessary.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>It is registered by a) one of the spouses b) by a duly authorized third party; by means of notarized Special Power of Attorney c) by a lawyer duly authorized; by means of notarized Special Power of Attorney.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong> 2. If the solemnization took place abroad: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.1. <\/strong>If you have a marriage registration document issued by the Greek Consulate:<\/p>\n<p><u>Required documents:<\/u><br \/>\n&#8211; The document by the Greek Consulate<br \/>\n&#8211; A valid identification document or passport is necessary.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The marriage is registered at the Special Civil Registry Section:\u00a0 a) by either of the spouses or b) by a duly authorized third party; such authorization must be certified by <\/strong><strong>\u039a\u0395\u03a0<sup>1<\/sup><\/strong><strong>\u00a0or the Greek Consulate c) by a qualified lawyer duly authorized; such authorization must be certified by <\/strong><strong>\u039a\u0395\u03a0<\/strong><strong> or the Greek Consulate d) <\/strong><strong>by any person who has a legitimate interest. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.2.<\/strong>\u00a0If you have a marriage certificate issued by the Church:<br \/>\n<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p><u>Required documents:<\/u><br \/>\n&#8211; Original marriage certificate issued by the Church, officially translated in Greek<sup>2<\/sup>, and certified by the respective Church authority in Athens<sup>3<\/sup>.<br \/>\n&#8211; If the registration takes place between the 90<sup>th<\/sup> and 180<sup>th<\/sup> day a fee of 5.40 euro is required to be paid at the Public Financial Service (\u0394.\u039f.\u03a5) or the fee can be paid through <strong>eparavolo<\/strong> code number<strong> 3826 for 5.40 Euros.<\/strong><br \/>\nIf the registration takes place after 180 days from the birth, a fee 15.60 euro is required to be paid at the local Public Financial Service (\u0394.\u039f.\u03a5) or the fee can be paid through <strong>eparavolo<\/strong> code number <strong>3827 for 15.60 Euro<\/strong><strong>s<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; A valid identification card or passport is necessary.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>It is registered a) by one of the spouses b) by a duly authorized third party; by means of notarized Special Power of Attorney c) by a lawyer duly authorized; by means of notarized Special Power of Attorney.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In case of a registered religious marriage which is followed by a civil union, the last one is registered on the religious marriage document. For civil marriages conducted in Greece, a report on civil marriage may also be prepared by the Registrar which will be mailed to the Special Civil Registry Section.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n[1] \u039a\u0395\u03a0:\u00a0 local Citizens Service Centers (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ermis.gov.gr\/portal\/page\/portal\/ermis\/KepIndex\">http:\/\/www.ermis.gov.gr\/portal\/page\/portal\/ermis\/KepIndex<\/a>)<\/p>\n[2] Official translation: <strong>a)<\/strong> the document can be translated and certified by the Consulate<strong> or<\/strong> b) by the Section of Translations\u00a0(Arionos 10 and Ermou- Monastiraki) <strong>or <\/strong>c) by a qualified Greek lawyer.<\/p>\n[3] The certificate by the church must be certified by the respective Church Authorities in Greece (eg. for a Christian orthodox marriage the signature is certified by the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece (\u0399asiou 1, \u039coni Petraki tel:\u00a0 210 7272213)).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
